Most garments are retired over a five-minute repair. This tin holds thread in the colours that actually come up, spare buttons in the sizes that actually fall off, and the needles and scissors to use them — organised so you can find it in a drawer at short notice.

How to use it
- 1Match the thread to the garment in daylight rather than under a lamp.
- 2Use a doubled thread for buttons and a single for seams.
- 3Knot on the inside face of the garment.
- 4Close the tin fully and store out of reach.
